Dear Colleagues,
It is a pleasure to inform you that you may now register online to attend the digital bridging event of IWGO on the 5th and 6th of May 2022 (each half-days) leading towards a face-to-face 28th IWGO Conference in 2023.
This digital meeting will take place using zoom, a cloud-based video communications platform. It has the lone objective of informing each other of our research activities and thereby explaining some preliminary results or even asking for external collaborations among the IWGO working group community. Therefore, the meeting will be not grouped into scientific sessions and will have a different format than usual so that we can learn what kind of research questions you are focussing on. In turn, this might help us to prepare an attractive scientific programme for 2023.
During the meeting days, we will allow 10 min discussion time for each oral contribution. This means we can cover up to 12 contributions per day, but we may adjust depending on the demand for talking slots. Please be informed that we will be asking you to submit your pre-recorded oral contribution before the event as we would like to mitigate any internet connectivity issues which are unavoidable with such an international audience.
We cordially invite you to submit your planned contribution to IWGO via the online submission platform.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 19 April 2022. Accepted papers will be announced
by Monday 25 April 2022. The deadline for providing your
pre-recorded presentation is Monday 02 May 2022. We will be asking for a minimal registration fee as this will help IWGO to cover some organizational costs but more importantly it might provide us some support for organizing the conference in Africa.
We are looking forward to arranging a stimulating IWGO bridging event and hope that you will contribute through submitting your oral contributions and active participation. Please forward this message to colleagues potentially interested in such an event!
If you have questions about the conference, please do not hesitate to contact us at
